Its a mystery why Alex suddenly leaves the devoted Simone to follow a beautiful woman into the Copenhagen night. Time twists and Simone becomes a stranger to him – his past disappears. To create his future, Alex must return the enigmatic Aimee’s love, but will he have the courage Boe offers us a noir-ish, psychological romantic drama are Alex’s experiences real or fantasy Has Aimee performed magic or does she represent everything Simone cannot give him.

The intriguing nature of the plot is accentuated by stylish flourishes from Manuel Alberto Claros grainy cinematography, Morton Greens unsettling sound design and visual symbolism. The film starts with the narrator uttering, Its all a film. It is all a construction. Well, yes, we know that. And this introduction along with other pretensions appears to have irritated some critics. Yet the many film festival awards and huge number of nominations indicate that despite the young directors conceits, Boe has created something special. Will you be among the irritated or the intrigued Either way, Boe is worth watching for the future.
