We Are Together

March 5, 20098:30pm

Pupils at the Agape School for AIDS Orphans form a choir and start to fundraise for their school when a disaster strikes. The film documents the choirs efforts to resuscitate plans to raise money for their cause and at the same time reveals the human stories of the pupils. We Are Together showcases the acapella singing of the children and the success of the musical finale provides a triumphant note to a film which despite its sometimes sad content ultimately manages to be uplifting. Inspirational.

Quite possibly the least-worthy worthy film you can expect to see. It is almost closer in spirit to a musical. Sally Williams, Telegraph.co.uk

As documentaries go, this one is a standout genuinely moving and completely honest. We Are Together is an emotional and emotive piece of work, but excels in never exploiting the subject matter nor the audience for this and many other reasons it is to be completely commended. Cassam Looch, Screenjabber.

And so what if it feels like a recruitment video for the VSO Any film that can raise both spirits and awareness deserves to make a difference. Elliott Noble, Skymovies.com
